Shaded Reflections is a series of artworks, depicting this dreamlike colour sequence of distant memories. The fragments I see my experiences in - Experiences which were so detailed but now condensed into the threadwork of few colours and associations. The visual atmosphere is an attempt to showcase this just-beyond-the-reach nature of memories and the poetic beauty which arises from its fallacy.
Our sum total of past experiences and the meaning we derive from them lie between a juncture of consciousness and unconsciousness. Every time we remember, we are not reproducing these events but reconstructing them- smoothing the edges, filling the gaps with our perceptions and imagination in the process. I was particularly curious about the visual/sensorial details of memory on recollection. Most of our visual recollections fade away and lose their definite details like colours, shapes etc. They may be colourless, dredged deep inside, but when we summon them to consciousness, our imagination provides them with colours - ones which these memories may never have had in the first place
